How commission is calculated
Most commission is a straight percentage of the sale: multiply the sale amount by the rate as a decimal. A 7% commission on a $4,200 sale is 4,200 × 0.07 = $294. If you also receive a base salary or draw, add it to the commission for your total pay.
Tiered and split commissions
Some plans use tiers (a higher rate above a sales threshold) or splits (shared between agents). For a single rate this calculator gives the exact figure; for tiered plans, calculate each tier's sales at its rate and add them, and for splits, apply your share of the rate. The math is the same percentage operation applied per slice.
